How much do Google Ads cost in Lucknow? A practical budget guide for 2026
There’s no fixed price for Google Ads — but there is a reliable way to set your budget: start from the customers you need, not the clicks you can afford.
“How much do Google Ads cost?” is one of the first questions every business owner asks — and the honest answer, “it depends”, is also the least useful.
So let’s make it useful. Google Ads runs on an auction, so there’s no price list. But there is a simple, reliable way to work out what your business should spend, and what you should get for it.
The three parts of Google Ads cost
- Ad spend — what you pay Google for clicks. This goes directly from your card to Google.
- Management fee — what you pay an agency or specialist to plan, build and optimise the campaigns.
- Setup — landing pages and conversion tracking. Often skipped, and usually the reason accounts fail.
Always keep ad spend and management fee on separate lines. If an agency bundles them into one number, you can’t tell how much actually reached Google.
Work backwards from customers, not clicks
The right budget starts with how many customers you need — not how much you feel comfortable spending. Four numbers are enough:
- Customers you want per month — say, 10.
- Your enquiry-to-customer rate — if 1 in 20 enquiries buys, that’s 5%.
- Enquiries you need — 10 ÷ 5% = 200 enquiries.
- Cost per enquiry in your category — if it’s ₹400, the budget is 200 × ₹400 = ₹80,000 a month in ad spend.
These numbers are an example, not a benchmark — your cost per enquiry depends on your industry and competition. The method is what matters. Our marketing budget calculator does this maths with your own numbers.
What drives your cost per enquiry
- Competition — more advertisers bidding on the same searches pushes prices up.
- Search intent — “solar panel price for home Lucknow” costs more per click than “what is solar”, and is worth far more.
- Your landing page — a page that turns 10% of visitors into enquiries halves your cost compared with one that converts 5%.
- Targeting — areas you don’t serve, hours nobody answers the phone and irrelevant searches all waste money.
- Conversion tracking — without it, Google can’t learn what a good lead looks like.
What agencies charge in Lucknow
Management fees vary widely. For small accounts in Lucknow, fees commonly start around ₹10,000–₹20,000 a month, separate from ad spend; some agencies charge a percentage of spend instead, usually with a minimum. Be wary of prices far below this range — at that level, nobody has the time to optimise your account every week.
More important than the fee is what it includes: landing pages, conversion tracking, weekly search-term cleanup and a report that shows enquiries and customers — not just clicks and impressions.
The cheapest way to lower your cost per customer
Here’s what most budget guides leave out: the cheapest improvement usually isn’t in Google Ads at all. It’s in what happens after the enquiry.
Go back to the example. If faster replies and consistent follow-up lift your enquiry-to-customer rate from 5% to 8%, you only need 125 enquiries for the same 10 customers. At ₹400 each, that’s ₹50,000 instead of ₹80,000 — the same result for ₹30,000 less every month.
That’s why we treat ads and follow-up as one system. Buying more clicks to feed a leaky funnel is the most expensive way to grow.
Red flags when hiring for Google Ads
- The ad account is created in the agency’s name, not yours.
- “Guaranteed” leads or rankings.
- No conversion tracking set up before launch.
- Reports full of clicks, impressions and CTR — but no enquiries or customers.
- Ads pointed at your homepage instead of a dedicated landing page.
A sensible way to start
Start with a budget that can produce around 50 enquiries in the first month, so there’s enough data to learn from. Judge the account on cost per enquiry after the first full month, and on customers after the second. Then scale what works.
